Well, HELLO SUMMER! ☀️☀️☀️
This is a wonderful time of the year, especially for those of us who live in the Midwest. Our winters can often be long and brutal, but summer is finally here.
We are able to move about the planet more freely than we could at this time last year, still taking precautions as advised by scientists and health professionals in order to remain as healthy as possible.
What I really want to do is highlight and reiterate how to incorporate collaboration into your self-care regimen. There are many avenues for self-care; do what works for you and what fits your needs.
Self-care Collaboration Suggestions:
✅Take a walk with a group of other walkers
✅Meet at the health club to work out with friends
✅Select a different restaurant and meet up with business partners each month
✅Schedule a virtual meet-up to discuss what self-care strategy works best for you
✅Meet on Zoom to discuss highlights of a book you’re reading with others
✅Travel with a group of like-minded individuals
Take note that this is merely a handful of activities encouraging collaboration. Please create a list that works for you. Personally, I simply love to travel! As I always say, “Travel is in my DNA”. Recently, I had the pleasure of traveling to Cancun with seven of my business partners. This was a collaboration that we all planned, executed, and profited greatly from. At the end of 2020 we decided to join forces and attend a free virtual training offered by one of the travel suppliers through our host agency. This training was extremely informative and beneficial. We learned all about the many brand resorts (all inclusive, of course) that are offered by this supplier. We were able to clarify information about the brand and ask questions. At the end of the training presentation I simply asked the manager (who was the presenter) if she could arrange a time for us to visit one of the resorts. This conversation led to our recent trip.
We had the pleasure of conducting site visits at seven of the resorts owned by this brand; greeted exclusively by the resort manager at each property, and given a tour of their restaurants, spas, accommodations, pools, etc. The purpose of these visits was to acquire valuable information in order to recommend the best resort vacations to our clients based on their individual needs and desires. We had an awesome time as a team collaborating and discussing benefits the resorts can offer our clientele, the wonderful amenities, and the friendliness and personable treatment we all received!
As travel business owners, we have a plethora of opportunities to collaborate—trips together, exchanging information about new properties and destinations, taking advantage of free training offered by suppliers, assisting each other when needed, participating in launch events, and marketing our business as a group and individually.
The wisdom, the camaraderie, and positioning ourselves for higher-level earning potential is the CURRENCY gained from COLLABORATION.
