A LETTER FROM CARMEN RAY:This Holiday Season I’m especially moved by family members and friends that continue to create and maintain traditions. This being my 60th Christmas is such a reminder that family is sacred. Weather we are blood connected, business or purpose connected. I appreciate you and I encourage you to make this Holiday Season matter. I’m grateful for memories of the Holiday Season with my family. Although we were pretty small, my father, mother and Sister, I can honestly say my Sister was and continues to be the keeper of tradition and rituals. I’m also using this time not to romanticize the holidays. I recall so many filled with arguments with in-laws, overspending, and dysfunction from both of my previous marriages. I recall an over abundance of materialism and a lack of outward expression of love, gratitude and meaningful conversations. This Christmas instead of dwelling on the less than “Merry” experiences, I’m going to reflect on the traditions, love, lessons and gratitude for those I love and those that loved me.
