Conscious Collaboration:  Attracting Healthy, Functional, and FUN Colleagues

Although I have always believed that two or more brains are better than one when taking the necessary risks to achieve your dreams, it has taken me about 40 years to attract and work with colleagues who are not only talented but healthy, functional, and fun.
When I first became self-employed, I entered into a partnership where I quickly discovered that our personal goals for the work we were mining did not match.

We separated over a project I decided to take on that was aligned with MY higher purpose, but not that of my partner. I made many more attempts over the years to find the right persons with whom to collaborate; even putting the word “collaborative” in the name of my business. But the experience of an authentic and healthy business collaboration continued to elude me.

Finally, last year, I experienced what I had dreamed of for so many years. I formed a collaboration with three other people whose personal goals and unique talents aligned with mine. Most importantly they are committed to self-mastery. (Please see my article from the Spring 2021 Be Well Magazine, Self-Mastery: How Your Business Can Thrive During a Global Pandemic.)  My colleagues also believe that a lifestyle of thriving and ‘happy endings’ is the normal and natural result of doing work you love in collaboration with other fabulous and fun people.

Our first year of profit was twice the amount we anticipated, and this year we are on track to double that amount.

1.As a result of this very successful collaborative experience, I’ve now attracted two more situations with highly talented people committed to wellness. So, you’re probably wondering what changed for me. The answer lies in three personal and spiritual development practices I strive to do on a daily basis to raise my consciousness for attracting the experience of fulfillment in life:

  1. Morning Surrender: I consciously let go of thinking that my limited mind can figure out what is truly best for me to achieve my dreams and I prayerfully surrender to the Will of my Greater Order and Direction
  2. Afternoon Gratitude: I consciously take a moment or two to stop and say, “thank you God & the Universe” for enabling me to receive my blessings, regardless of what form they take
  3. Evening Forgiveness: I express willingness to let go of whatever and whoever doesn’t serve my highest good, and to receive forgiveness for any conscious or unconscious transferring of my pain onto others, and myself.
I believe that by keeping myself consciously aware of how I am feeling, thinking, and believing about myself and others, then cleaning up and releasing any and all negativity from my perception of others, life, and myself, I am able to be an empty vessel for my right stuff.

I encourage you to create or sustain your own unique practice of daily personal and spiritual development. And just watch how quickly you find yourself connected to a collaborative experience full of health, wealth, and fulfillment. May it be so. Ashé!
